Remembering Uncle Mike

Today's blog post is written by Kate instead of Andrew because it is dedicated to my uncle Mike.

Sadly, my uncle Mike Kelly was called home to God on St. Patrick’s Day. The news was a great shock and the loss we all feel is immeasurable. Uncle Mike was a wonderful man, a great lawyer, and most importantly a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Andrew and I are very sad not to be able to be with my family right now, but it helps us to remember the many joyous occasions that we were able to share with uncle Mike. There were countless Christmas Eve dinners, Easter brunches complete with egg toss in the Kelly’s back yard, family pizza nights, weddings, births, and baptisms. The most recent of these was Sophie’s baptism two weeks ago which I am so grateful that uncle Mike was able to attend. It is a wonderful memory for me and above is a picture of us on that day. For anyone who hadn’t already heard the news, I’d ask you to keep my family in your prayers, especially my aunt Ruthie, my Nonnie, and my cousins Larry, Tim and Colleen.

I’m also including Sophie’s St. Patrick’s Day pictures to hopefully bring some much needed smiles during these sad days.

Love

Kate
