Louisville Trip Post #2 - Time with the Albers!

Hi again, everyone!

This post covers the second half of our trip that we spent at the Alber's.

Sophie had more fun bonding time with the other half of her family! Mia definitely enjoyed her Sophie snuggle time! The girls had fun playing together in the living room and later relaxed in the rocking chair upstairs in the nursery. Sophie is such a lucky girl to have nurseries on different continents!

The munchkin also had fun bonding with the Albers men. Papa played with her on the floor and helped her practice head lifts in preparation for rolling over! Sophie showed off her cold weather outfit to Uncle Daniel. They cuddled and played and even managed to watch some Kentucky basketball!

All that playing and spitting up (and all those dirty nappies) make for a messy girl. What's the answer? BATH TIME!!! Happily for all involved, Sophie's hair is now officially long enough to make a mohawk! Now we can add that to her repertoire of bed-time hair, post-bath pretty hair, and daddy silly hair!

Later in the week, we went out to Mammie and Marty's for dinner. Kate had the great honor of entering Sophie's birth in the family bible (which dates back to the 1800's). Rick and Karen came out too and showed Sophie the Alber's family talent of balancing a spoon on your nose :)

Candy's friend Mrs. Wohlleb hosted a fun "Sip and See" Party to introduce Sophie more Louisville folks. The highlight for Sophie was meeting babies of mum's friends :) She compared notes on bedtimes and feeding patterns with Stacy's son, Samuel, and Amy's son, Jack!

Towards the end of the week, Sophie decided to show off her sittin' up skills in her Bumbo seat. What a big girl! Mia was so proud of her that she decided to take her for her first walk around the Seneca Park Loop! Lulu (Mia and Papa's dog) was very keen to join the trek and was quite curious about the bundle in the stroller. Once she figured out that it was Sophie Bear underneath all those clothes and blankets, she assumed the role of ferocious guard dog:)

It was such a great visit home! Thanks to everyone for all the gifts, good wishes, and Sophie snuggles!

Love,
Andrew
