Hi again!

The main purpose of our trip home was to get Sophie baptized. Unfortunately, the weather in Chicago conspired against us. A snow and ice storm stranded us, but, thankfully, Dan and Daniel came to our rescue!

We rescheduled the baptism for the next weekend - Father Glen was very obliging. Everything went very smoothly the second time. Sophie wore the Renda family Christening gown complete with coat and bonnet. Grandpa Bill tried on the bonnet for size, and Sophie thought he looked pretty silly :)

We asked Uncle Daniel to be Sophie's Godfather and Auntie Em to be Godmother. Em is busy studying in Dublin, so she couldn't make it to the baptism. But, lucky for us, Great Grandma Kay (who is daddy's Godmother) agreed to stand in!
Sophie was great throughout the ceremony and barely fussed even when the holy water was poured over her head! What a great girl!
Mission accomplished! Sophie is now officially Catholic!
Thanks to everyone for all the prayers and good wishes!
Love,
Andrew
