Gregg lake!

Sophie had a very exciting weekend - it was her first trip to the Renda cabin at Gregg Lake in Antrim, New Hampshire! We went with our friends Chris and Christiana and their two little boys. We only stayed one night because we couldn't get the hot water turned on but everything else was great! Sophie enjoyed her first boat ride, her first real hike, and just playing in the woods with Daddy! She even got to have an ice cream push up because an ice cream truck came by! She also learned a few toddler tricks from her friend George who turns two this week -- she is saying 'no' a lot more already :) But it balances out because she is also saying thank you now! Last night when I got her out of her high chair after dinner, she walked off saying 'kank-oo, welcome welcome welcome'. For some reason 'you're welcome' sticks with her more but hey, it's the start of some manners so we won't be picky! At any rate, it was a great weekend and Sophie really seems to love the outdoors which makes her Daddy very happy!!

Sophie played very intently with the sticks and the leaves. Sophie amazed us when she said 'Y!' as she picked up this stick -- look closely and you can see she was right! The second picture shows her after she broke off one of the sticks and was very upset that it wasn't a Y anymore. She kept trying to put it back on, while looking up at Mommy and saying, 'help me? Y?'

Sophie missed most of the hike because she fell asleep on Mommy's back! Didn't seem comfortable but she slept a long time!

She woke up in a great mood though :)

Sophie and George got to enjoy a boat ride with the Daddies! George was a typical boy and would have jumped in the water if they would have let him - he spent the whole time looking over the side. Sophie played it cool and mostly stayed on Daddy's lap :)

Just to show we're not all about the kids, the adults had a great dinner on the grill after the little ones went to bed - with the obligatory smores afterwards. Yum!

Looks like we're supposed to have crummy weather this week so the blog posts may slow down a bit. But have a great week and hopefully we'll get some more pictures this weekend!
