We took advantage yesterday of Daddy's Fridays off and took Sophie to Drumlin Farm in Lincoln MA! Sophie had her first real picnic outside and got to see goats, horses, pigs, chickens, cows and birds - and not to mention do a little digging in the garden. Spring has finally arrived in Boston and we are doing our best to get out as much as possible. Sophie loved being outside in the sunshine and running around. Sophie is still doing great and talking up a storm. Today she said her first 'sentence'. She was sitting in her car (which she hasn't figured out how to move forward yet, only backward) and she said "Help me go!" Other key phrases she has learned to use are 'Come on' and 'Let go' (as in me holding something she wants, she'll tell me to let go!). She also knows now (after our nice trip home) that Honey's car is a Volkswagen Beetle and whenever she sees one she says 'Honey car' - even if it's a different color!

Sophie and Daddy looking at the goats!

Sophie was very interested in the chickens!

Sophie enjoying her picnic -- Mommy is a little surprised that Sophie will eat a big girl sandwich with mustard on it :) She also enjoyed her fig newtons (the special treat for picnic day) and wore her sunglasses for a very short time. The hat she flat refused and has taken to screaming when we try to put it on. We're going to have to work on that!

By the end of the day Sophie was tired and told us when she was 'all done'!
Love,
Kate, Andrew and Sophie
