We made the most out of our last days at the beach. Sophie had some more quality time in the sand and practiced standing up! What a big girl we have! She also saw her first sunset over the ocean with mommy and daddy :)
It was no fun packing up to go home. Sophie did her best to stall the efforts by spreading out in our suitcase :) We were tempted to stay another week, but unfortunately daddy had to get back to work.
Our flight back to Ireland didn't leave until midnight, so we had a whole day to sightsee and shop in Dubai. First we went to see the world famous 7-star Burj Hotel. We could never afford to actually stay there, but it was an impressive sight to behold!
After that, we got down to some serious shopping. We spent a good few hours looking at Persian carpets and bargaining with the shopkeeper until we found the perfect one for our future house. Mommy and daddy liked this one, but the final approval came from Sophie Bear. She took her time inspecting it and insisted on a trial carpet playtime with daddy, and, in the end, she decided it was the best one for our family!
Our last stop before heading to the airport was the dazzling gold souk! It's a busy market in downtown Dubai filled with shops selling all kinds of gold jewelery. We spent all our money on the carpet, so we just window shopped for a while. Sophie didn't seem to mind, though. As long as mommy and daddy are around, she's a smiley, happy girl!What a fun trip!

Hi guys! Love the pics from your trip - looks like it was a great family vacation!!! Sophie is one well-dressed little girl!!! :) Was also checking to see if you had any pics of her Easter attire ... little girls on Easter are just the cutest thing in the world!!!

Kate and Sophie, so sorry that we're unable to go to Thunder this year - we have a baby shower so it just didn't work out! We will miss you guys! Hope you're having a great time at home in KY. OOOH, we can't wait to see you this summer!
Andrew, hope you're doing OK in Ireland by yourself and aren't mising the girls too much (although I'm sure you still are!)

This morning on The Today Show, Matt Lauer was in Ireland ... travling all over, including the Cliffs of Moher and Galway. Reminded us of our trip last year to see you guys - we want to go back so badly!!!
