So, our last week in Boston was very exciting -- Todd and Nikke came to visit and we did all kinds of fun things to finish off our time in Beantown. We of course took them to Cambridge, where Sophie again climbed the steps of the Harvard library. One day we all took a ferry to the Boston Harbor Islands and another we visited the Sam Adams brewery. The funniest part of the visit was that Sophie took a very strong liking to Nikke! Nikke is the first person that Sophie has ever rejected Mommy for :) Most of the visit Sophie spent whining, "Nikkeeee? Nikkeeeeeeeee?" Nikke was a good sport and humored Sophie although she had a hard time carrying Sophie the WHOLE time so Sophie had to settle at times. Nikke and Todd are expecting a baby around Christmas and we thought that perhaps Sophie was sensing an extra maternal vibe because of that? We're not sure, but Sophie definitely loves her Nikke. All in all, the visit was a big success and served as a good distraction for the move ahead :)

Some pictures from our visit to the Harbor Islands! It was a VERY windy day, but that didn't stop us. The view of the city from Spectacle Island was gorgeous!

A couple pictures from the Sam Adams Brewery tour!
Todd and Nikke left on Wednesday and the movers were coming Thursday -- so Wednesday was a big day for Mommy and Daddy of packing. For the record -- you can pack an entire two bedroom apartment in one day with a toddler in tow, but it will probably take you into the wee hours of the next day before you get it done :) Sophie was again a trooper and took all the excitement in stride. On Thursday, Mommy and Sophie flew home while some hired hands packed the our pods, and a moving company drove them to Louisville (ABF U-pack rocks, by the way). Sophie amused Mommy by yelling "Nikeeee!" at every lady with red hair that she saw at the airport :) Nikke withdrawal, I suppose. Then Andrew and his dad (who flew in for the occasion) drove the Volvo home and arrived at 6 pm Friday night. Mommy and Mimi spent most of Friday purchasing mattresses so that we would have something to sleep on that night -- after all these years of crashing at the parents/in laws, we were definitely going to sleep in OUR house that night! Our pods arrived this Wednesday and our great Craigslist friends unloaded our stuff in under an hour. We now have the kitchen, living room, dining room and bedrooms pretty well settled! We'll post pictures soon but the next post is going to be about our new furry friends :) Stay tuned!

That box was the perfect size for a Sophie Bear! And see all our boxes piled high? It was quite a day's work!
