For Andrew's second Father's Day, we thought we'd give you a comparison picture of Sophie at 19 months and at 7 months! These pictures may seem deceptive since Sophie miraculously STILL fits into her "I Love Dad" jammies from the year before but I assure you that they are accurate - what can we say, the PJs were a little big then and are VERY stretchy!
We did have a great Father's Day at the time, but have been a little lax about updating the blog! It's wonderful to be home and Andrew really enjoyed his first Father's Day in Louisville! We spent the evening before Father's Day at Candy and Dan's club celebrating and swimming with Sophie. Everyone loved that and the other parents at the baby pool were mildly amused by Sophie's entourage :) Sunday morning, Sophie and Mommy got up early and went to the grocery to get some cinnamon rolls and bacon for a Daddy brunch, and then went to Daddy's favorite coffee shop to get him a cuppa (as they would say in Ireland). Since we didn't yet have a coffee maker, that was a big gesture :) Then that night we went over to Sally and Bill's and had a lovely family dinner. A great weekend!

Sophie has had a really big week that really deserves it's own blog post, but for now let's just say that she is 'settling in' at her day care, preparing for the 'big day'- we've been leaving her for very short periods. The first two days were a little rough and were the source of many tears for both Sophie and Mommy, but thankfully, this third day was a marked improvement and the teachers reported that Sophie seemed to be getting more comfortable. We will write more about that transition next week but at this point we could use some prayers and good wishes because I'm sure it will be even tougher when it's 'for real'!! The big day when we both return to work is July 7 -- it's quickly approaching!

As you may notice, the puppies continue to expand :) We are very grateful to have met a great family in the neighborhood that has a Great Pyrenees puppy that is a few weeks older than ours. She told us about a place to get a great puppy food that is only $15 for a 50 lb bag. Since our dogs are eating A LOT, we were very grateful for the tip! The dogs are doing great. The housebreaking is improving although not great. Sophie is loving giving the doggies their treats and the house breaking is improving, we think! :)
Love,
Kate, Andrew and Sophie

Sounds like you are settling in nicely! I will be thinking of you lots during the next few weeks as you get adjusted to the day care routine...
Lots of love to everyone!
