Hi everyone!
I just wanted to do a quick post letting everyone know that Sophie had her 15 month visit yesterday and was pronounced thriving by the doctor! (yes the appointment was a couple weeks late but between her bad cold and us jetting off to Casey Key it was the soonest we could do it!)
Her current stats:
Weight: 23 lbs 10 oz (61st percentile)
Height: 32.5 inches (93rd percentile -- don't ask where that came from!)
Head Circumference: 48.5 cm (97th percentile -- yes she has a BIG noggin)
Sophie also impressed the doctor with all of her words -- first off she found the doctor's Elmo doll as soon as we walked in the room and shouted "Elmo!" Then just after the doctor asked me if Sophie could point to body parts if we named them (the answer is yes), Sophie decided to show off and pointed to Elmo's eye and shouted "EYE!" When I told the doctor she had close to 40 words, she said that they look for about 6 at this age -- so we were pretty proud. Sophie had to get 3 shots and a blood test which she did not enjoy but the good news is that her iron levels are back within normal limits. Sophie was on target for everything the Dr asked and ahead in several areas so we were very pleased. Okay well she's a little slow in the scribbling department (only just started doing it and doesn't really like it) but we really didn't expect her to be blessed with artistic genes!! We didn't even get to tell the doctor about how Sophie plays make believe with her dolls already and has started to make Mommy and Daddy go 'night night', but we are pretty sure that she would have been impressed by that too :)
Okay, brag session over but in short order, Sophie is doing great and we are as usual so proud of her. Here are a few pictures that other people sent us recently -- the penguin was at the beach house in Florida :)

Sophie loves penguins and will flap her arms whenever she sees one! This one was in the yard around the beach house and whenever we walked by she went crazy - so the last day we had her get up close and personal :)
And a cute picture that our friends took of us while sledding!
Love,
Kate, Andrew and Sophie
