Happy September!

Sophie is continuing to get to know Boston. In addition to her swimming classes, we have started a 'Movers and Groovers' class at a child development center nearby. The first class was today and I am proud to report that Sophie was the only child able to hold three toys at a time by keeping one firmly in between her teeth :)

Sophie was very excited last weekend to meet Kelley -- another Vandy friend of Mommy's! Kelley was pretty knowledgeable about babies having spent the rest of the weekend with her two nieces. And she even brought Sophie an 'Old McDonald' Farm book/hand puppet! How did she know that was Sophie's favorite song? Here is a pic of the three of us at lunch (Sophie was a little tired!)

Speaking of favorites, Sophie's favorite game these days is a version of Peekaboo/Find Mommy where Mommy hides behind the ottomans and chairs. She loves it as you can see from these pictures!!

Sophie is also excited that Mommy acquired a new sling. Actually Mommy is more excited because Sophie likes it and this means Mommy doesn't have to lug along the stroller for short walks and trips on the "T" (the subway/light rail which apparently is neither handicapped accessible nor mommy friendly!) Aren't we cute together?

Daddy is working hard every night but making sure to fit in time to see his Sophie Bear, especially the milestones like Sophie standing up all on her own. She also started clapping yesterday! The steps are coming slowly -- she fell a few times and was timid for a couple days but when she gets excited, there is no stopping her! Here's a pic of one of her very first standing attempts!! You have to look close to see there are no hands supporting :)

Oh and Sophie has EIGHT teeth now -- you can see 7 of them in this goofy pic!

Finally, Sophie would like to wish a happy birthday to Gretchen -- the big 28 is tomorrow!!
