Sophie is 2!

We celebrated Sophie's second birthday today with a small family get together - plus Sophie's friend Jack from school and his parents :) Sophie's birthday dress was made by Honey and the confetti pattern matched the cake that Daddy made -- see below! Sophie got some great loot...some velcro food, a toy grill and apron, a Noah's ark, a wagon, a doggie in a purse...she loved them all. Sophie is showing such an imagination these days. I heard her talking to her Noah's ark characters when she was playing with the "ark" and she told one of them, "Yes, it IS a door. Not a window. Do you like it?" It was just too cute. She loved being sung to and 'blowing' out her birthday candles - she didn't quite have the power yet, but she definitely tried.

Sorry it's a little blurry - but too cute!

Daddy's birthday masterpiece! The figures on the top are Sophie and the puppies :) Who nearly got lost right before Sophie's party but that is another story. If you see at the top, there is a silver "moon" because Sophie loves to talk about "taking a walk in the moonlight" :) (This is from her one of her favorite books/movies "Harold and the Purple Crayon").

Sophie getting ready to blow out her TWO candles! We very nearly bought a number 2 candle but then remembered how we've been telling Sophie for weeks that she would have two candles on her cake - so two candles it was!

This was really cute - Great Uncle Mo brought an album with pictures of Mommy's second birthday party! This is Sophie looking at pictures of Mommy as a toddler - I think she was a little confused :)

Sophie showing off her pearly whites with Honey!

After all the guests had gone, we cuddled up with our new books and the new duvet that Honey made for Sophie and read. It was a great day.

Happy Birthday Sophie!

Love,

Mommy and Daddy
