Hi everyone!
Sophie has had a huge week settling in at 'school', so we decided to get her a little treat since she's been doing so well. Mom and Dad are big fans of Craigslist, so we managed to find a used Little Tikes climber and slide -- in the shape of a castle :) Daddy even got creative and fixed it so that the slide went straight into her little pool. It was a big treat after her longest day at school yet!!
Sophie is getting more comfortable with school every day but it seems like it will take a while to adjust. The first week was a little rough, but after two days she was MUCH better and actually got out of the teacher's arms to play with the toys and other kids. This week, she is doing even better and stayed through nap time today. It is definitely going to take an adjustment to get used to sleeping on a little cot -- it took them an hour and a half to get her down and they basically had to rock her to sleep. We are confident though that it will continue to improve and there are signs that Sophie is enjoying herself. She says her teachers' names all the time and has even started doing some sign language that they have taught her. Her favorite part about school so far though is the fish tank in the lobby! Pretty cute!! Anyways, she is doing pretty well - the teachers assure us that she is doing better than average considering that she has never been in any kind of child care before. Please say some prayers that things continue to go well.

If you look at this last picture here, we wonder if she is picking up a 'school teacher' stare :)
It's 5 days until the two of us start work and we are both nervous and excited. Both of us are a little sick at how much money we have had to fork out on work clothes these last couple of weeks -- but a pay check is not too far away now :) Keep sending good wishes our way, it's going to be a big couple of weeks.
Love,
Kate, Andrew and Sophie

Sophie likes to put sunglasses on and say that she's 'cool' :) We hadn't seen these weird sunglasses in a while but recovered them today - they were from Mommy and Daddy's trip in 2005 to Mauritius! Daddy's glasses broke on the trip and these were the only ones they had in the gift shop at the resort -- really strange with the bug eyes but it was the only option. Sophie doesn't know the difference and still thinks they are very cool. At last, a pair of glasses she is allowed to break!
