Another Zoo Trip!

Hi everyone! Not much to report this weekend - we were mostly cleaning up after a week without power. Not sure if any of our out of town friends knew, but Louisville bizarrely got hit by the remnants of Hurricane Ike and had a freak windstorm on Sept. 14! Electricity was knocked out and we didn't get it back until the 10 pm last Sunday - an entire week later!! A week without power was difficult, especially with us working most of the daylight hours so nothing got done. We spent this weekend cleaning up the yard and the house. We also bought a couple furniture pieces so the house is looking very nice! After all those chores, we decided to treat Sophie with another trip to the zoo. She seems to be catching on finally to the concept of a zoo and no longer just asks to see the ducks when we get there :) Today she was excited about the lions! The pictures below are of her first Zoo train ride! The Zoo has a great choo choo which Sophie enjoyed as long as it wasn't tooting its horn which was very 'LOUD' (as Sophie would say) and made her a little upset. So we will perhaps stick to the carousel at the zoo for a little while until Sophie is more tolerant of loud things. All in all, it was a fun and productive weekend and Sophie is adorable as usual. Sophie now knows a crazy amount of nursery rhymes and songs and has even started to make up songs which is adorable. Mommy was most amazed today when Sophie started singing a song that we used to sing at the library sing along in Boston. It's probably been six months since we went to it (it was a cold weather thing) and Sophie just out of the blue started singing the song. It was one of those times that happens a lot lately where she just amazes us! '

Love,

Kate, Andrew and Sophie
